Swedish Trans-Atlantic Researchers and Scholars Network

Connect with researchers, scholars, scientists, and students in North America and Sweden through STARS Network (Swedish Trans-Atlantic Researchers & Scholars Network).

With members at 72 North American and 17 Swedish higher education institutions, STARS connects you with researchers and scientists across the two regions.

We organize networking events and professional development opportunities with the goal of inspiring more interdisciplinary research collaborations and facilitate scientific exchange between North America and Sweden. We also host an information hub harboring relocation, funding, and academic advice resources to support STARS members’ professional development.

STARS’ four main goals are to:

  • Promote networking and the exchange of knowledge between Swedish researchers in North America and North American researchers in Sweden

  • Support researchers, scholars, scientists, and students who wish to relocate or spearhead collaborations between Sweden and North America

  • Connect organizations, companies, and other transatlantic actors to expand access to valuable information for transatlantic collaboration and mobility

  • Support a mentoring network for researchers, scholars, scientists, and students early in their career who wish to, or are currently, studying or conducting research in North America or Sweden

STARS Mentorship Program

I have gained an incredible amount from this [mentorship] ... I just signed a contract for an internship ... that wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for the contact [my mentor] made through his network.
